Taylor Knox is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern under the supervision of Amy Fuller, PhD, LPC-S, LMFT-S. Taylor is humbled at the opportunity to fulfill a personal calling to help others through a career in counseling. As a therapist, Taylor provides a healing relationship where clients can learn to effectively face life’s problems as opportunities for growth and improvement. Taylor has the gift of empathy and she is interested in providing clients a safe non-judgmental relationship where they can explore their problems and come up with solutions.
Taylor sees individuals and couples with a wide variety of issues. She is especially interested in treating anxiety disorders using relaxation training and cognitive-behavioral techniques. She graduated from Houston Baptist University in December of 2015 with a master’s of arts in Christian counseling. She also graduated from Texas A&M University in December of 2012 with a bachelor’s of arts degree in psychology. While in her undergraduate program Taylor was fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in two study abroad programs. Through these programs, she gained cultural awareness, a passion for traveling, and an interest in learning about people of different cultures. Since then she has taken every opportunity to acquire knowledge about a variety of cultures.
Taylor enjoys psychological research and aspires to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology. Her research interests include substance use disorders, Christian psychology approaches, and positive psychology (specifically the effects of exercise on mental health). Taylor is pursuing a career in academia as well as counseling, where she hopes positively impact the student population. In her spare time, Taylor enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, fishing, lifting weights, and practicing yoga. She believes that balance is an important key to a happy and successful life and that nothing is impossible with the power of God on our side. Taylor would be happy to discuss your counseling needs.
